Back into the woods

Here I go - on the move again, with a newly refurbished topper, and a little bit less stuff. I'm going to check out the Piney Creek wilderness area, the Taum Sauk section of the Ozark Trail, and depending how that goes, the Current river section of the trail and a little bit of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. Then I'll crawl out of the woods, maybe a week from now and into Cape Girardeau, or something like that..

The country here in SE MO is getting pretty nice - lots of deciduous trees and green grass - it looks a lot like the pictures you see of Kentucky. And the fall colors look to be nearing their peak. This should be a good outing, and generate some cool pics.

Wow. So what does one do on a solo outing--for weeks? Talk to other people one meets on the way? Walk walk walk walk walk rest walk walk look look look eat walk? I would have to have a journal and be writing like every hour or two...or maybe recording audio. I suppose you do take a bunch of pics. Do you have stuff to read?--T.

Hey Michael,

We just remembered how you said you would stay in touch as you left home! We're on board now.

It's great that SE Missouri is looking so good....This last fling of beautiful fall weather was timed perfectly...it certainly is liberating to be able to go with the flow!!
